Year 4 children have been in contact with collage for two weeks now, exploring how meanings of a picture can change when images are put in a new relationship with each other. First, the pupils had the opportunity to be introduced to collage in their second class. Then they came to the Photographers’ Gallery to see two exciting exhibitions that revolve around ideas of collage and to make their own collages!
But the children have been having so much fun with collage that we decided to help them finding ways to practise with the technique at home! Here is a list of websites that allow you to work more—and have even more fun—with collages:
Digital collages
These websites help you make a collage online, with virtual images from the internet or by uploading your own images!
Collage with material from home
These websites can help you with ideas to make your own collages from your own drawings, and pictures from magazines or newspapers—and even leaves from trees!
