The Sea\e Room is now open!

The first Little Exhibition (by Lauriston School’s Year 4 students) opened with two previews held on Thursday: an earlier opening for the children and a later one–the first officially as part of the Whitechapel Gallery First Thursdays event–for the parents and the public. The first part featured the conclusion of Chestnut Class’s semester course in curating and included an ribbon cutting ceremony, cake, and the presentation of certificates. Check out all the images including the official class picture of the new curators with their certificates.

The second drew in a great amount of parents interested in their children’s exhibition besides the general public and passersby—number which is increasing due to our newly installed gallery signs. It was a wonderful evening full of celebrations. As stated by one of our pupils (or should we say curators? Or even artists?): “one to go into my memory box.” Year 4 really made us proud today. The team at a BIGGER picture project congratulates you for all your hard work. You were a fantastic class to work with and we will certainly miss our weekly encounters!

On a special note, we would like to once more thank the LSA for all the support in helping organize the opening.
